Interesting bit of trivia/lore: Darth Vectivus was a Sith Lord who did NOT give into the lure of power of the dark side of the Force. He was an ethical businessman who upheld his morals when he became a Lord and developed Force phantoms. Vectivus was not the least bit interested in the rivalry with Jedi and used his powers to learn more about Sith lore while living with friends and loved ones.

So it's totally possible to be a Sith and not be evil, just as there are "Dark Jedi" who are selfish or pursue the dark side.
