This is a gift for  jessirenee , of her fursona, Jess. She's been through some personal stuff lately so I wanted to do a gift for her to try to lift her spirits and give her encouragement. I didn't even know she had a fursona till I browsed through her gallery and found this gryphon! I haven't drawn a gryphon in a very long time and I had fun with this! I especially love her wings! When I saw her, I thought of this image instantly, of her flying through a storm, determined to get to the sunshine above the clouds. Kind of a "There is light in the darkness" type of theme. I also added the Bible verse, Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Which I find very comforting to think about.
