Say hello to my little friend.

“After going through all the trouble of taking the base commanders uniform, no one was convinced that the space pirate was a member of security, its commanding officer, or even a member of their race. The raccoon fell back to his preferred plan, “Call in an orbital strike, set off the strategically placed ordnance, and shoot everything else.”
A true artist at work...”
*****
I am kind of pleased with the end result. I went with more saturated colors, and dramatic angles then I usually do. The character, uniform, and rifle are based on designs I did for my personal sci-fi RPG games of the 90's, and 2000's. So, you may think its Rocket Raccoon if you like, but its really not.
Enjoy *Grin*
This piece, and prints of it will be on sale at MFM 2017.

I can see why so many people would automatically jump to the conclusion that this is supposed to be "Rocket Raccoon" (even though you clearly put the disclaimer in your description blurb (shame on you for thinking people would read those pesky things LOL)). These are totally not Rocket's colours. The blue is rather stunning. You have such an eye for colour combination. It's marvellous. I hope this particular piece brings you top dollar. It's certainly deserving of such.

Give a raccoon a gun in a sci-fi setting and suddenly he is Rocket Raccoon. *Chuckles*
I have been drawing raccoons in sci-fi settings with guns for a lot longer then Rocket was ever a major pop-culture thing. I can prove it. I got the dated sketch books, and illustrations. I also have some of my original weapon, uniform, and armor designs from the 90's. My first RPG character was for a setting called Justifiers. He was a Raccoon, he had a uniform (not unlike this one). The only real difference was his fur was more blondish, and he had blue eyes (much like this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24299633/ )
In the end I don't mind, people can think what ever they like. *Grin*
So, thank you *Bows*
