Just when you thought it was safe to go back into The Pride Lands, along comes this exceptionally made Hyena plush; with fine stitching that richly details the character’s appearance and personality. The exterior is quite soft, especially around the muzzle; although his mane has a few surprisingly sharp edges. The floppy ears can be posed forward-facing or backwards, and he has a wiggly tail. The Disney Store’s logo is located on the base of the left hindpaw. Size-wise, this plush is even larger than the 2011 Lion King Disney Store Hyena plushies, and slightly bigger than Kion. Sadly, unlike those earlier Hyenas, Janja’s body is much stiffer and lacks a bobbing neck that would enable him to “laugh”. The feet are also bit wobbly, so you will need the right surface to make this plush stand upright on all fours. (Otherwise, Janja sits comfortably on his hindpaws.) Nevertheless, Janja is an imposing addition to any collection. Alas, this plush stocks all too rarely at The Disney Store, so if the opportunity should arise be sure to grab Janja before he disappears back into The Outlands!
