Even though I'm a little bit late for "Throwback Thursday", I'd decided to post one more 'photo-op' from my visit to New York City on June 23, 2017 (my first time in Manhattan in over twenty years), and the reunion of me and my good friend from the 'Big Apple' (and fellow "FA" contributor),
Joe Strike...
Contacting him via text message (on my cell phone), Joe told me to meet him in front of the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue. I'd waited by one of the two giant lion statues, while Joe took care of some business inside the library. Once outside, we'd embraced one another (having not seen each other for a couple of years).
I got a passerby to take a picture of us (with my disposable camera) in front of the lion statue. From there, Joe and I took a short walk over to a Panera Bread restaurant for lunch. During our repast, he gave me a copy of the new adult comic book - "Komos & Goldie" - a collaboration between himself,
Karno, et al. He also told me about his impending paperback work "Furry Nation: The True Story Of America's Most Misunderstood Subculture" (due out in October, 2017; an e-book version will come out in September)... https://www.furrynation.com
Afterward, we took a walk through midtown Manhattan, taking in Times Square and Rockefeller Center. You can read more about it in Part Two of my multi-chaptered journal "Return to New York" - http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8371498
Feel free to visit Joe's two sites in "Fur Affinity" - http://www.furaffinity.net/user/joestrike/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/user/comus/ - the latter site under his alternate nom
Comus.
