Crystumes sent me a new WIP of Rime (the middle pic), so I played around with GIMP a bit and digitally added "fur" to her, just to see how she might look when actually furred (bottom pic). I think Crys really got the bill and eye spot on, when compared to the real bird (top pic). :) The "skin flap" (not sure what the scientific name is?) inside the bill was just put there for temp placement; it will be airbrushed darker and trimmed down a bit. And the peach patch of feathers on the side of her neck (seen here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8.....ew?usp=sharing ) is actually something only the male albatrosses have, but I liked it, so I wanted her to have it. She's more of a tomboy anyway, so it suits her. :D (Also, the tongue is missing here, because I don't have a pic of the one Crys made yet.) Anyway, will post a new update after she is furred for real...so excited! <3

I don't know what it's called, but I meant the flap of skin seen inside the bill, near the back of the throat. Crys is using a thin sheet of peach-colored foam for that, as you can see in the WIP, but it needs to be trimmed down a bit and darkened. Having it there will help to hide my face from the side, when the bill is open.
