Akaru was very curious as to why so many of his counterparts seemed to prefer wearing disposables over his usual cloth diapers. So he tried to persuade his reluctant guardians to let him try it just once. =_=;
Unfortunately, without the distraction of his bottle (and the fact that everyone is looking at him) he doesn't stay in them for long; he eventually sees the pretty patterns on the front and ends up tearing it off trying to get a better look; he seldom wears clothes for the same reason. XD
Personally, and this was just my little experiment just to see how he looked, since in my 7 years of drawing I'd never, ever depicted him in a disposable diaper before. The result? I still don't like it, so he'll be staying in his cloth diapers. Sorry XP

you're supposed to clean them out by hand, first, I think. Wetting is no real problem, of course- and I don't know if you've ever had the misfortune of an accident in yer undies, but you clean the coth much the same way- Rinse/scrub it out in the sink/over the toilet first, then toss it in the washing machine!
It all depends what mood I'm in, or what I have an easier time drawing.
I drew cloth for the longest time, knots were easier but safety pins were always a pain in the arse for me to draw. Lately I've been drawing disposables since I've been getting a better idea of their shape and dimention.
So currently, really, disposables now when I'm lazy, cloth if I want my character to look classy
