Fort Seward was a now-disassembled fort in Jamestown, North Dakota put up by the military to protect railroad workers. Not much of the fort remains but this howitzer was on display.
The howitzer pictured here was forged around 1861-1862, weighs over 2,600 pounds, fired a 46-pound cannonball and needed 4 pounds of gunpowder to fire.
