Hurricane Blues (Annoucement)
So I've been absent for a while, mainly because of recent events in the gulf coast of Texas. Hurricane Harvey made landfall about 30 minutes away from my house in a town called Rockport Texas, effectively wiping it off the face of the map. The eyewall missed my town by probably less then a mile, and our little town still took a beating.
Power lines, downed poles, trees and even a few damaged homes scattered our little town, but it was still left standing. One thing that wasn't however, was our access to electricity. Many here have been without power since the storm hit last Thursday, and I myself was left without power until this very afternoon. (we made due with a generator, so I had SOME taste of civilization) I should consider myself lucky. We didn't lose anything serious. Our deck in the backyard collapsed, and one of our storage sheds was pressed into our back fence, but our home withstood everything and my family is all safe. I can't say the same for those who live in Rockport, or even those in Houston.
It's been a long week, and I'm still officially lacking internet (Im tethering my phone to my desktop currently) I have my drawing station online, and even had an old tablet with a laptop when the power was out, so I've been trying to keep myself busy with drawing. Here's to hoping that things can get back to normal, and I'm REALLY excited to draw stuff again.
Thought I'd make this quick little painting on my laptop to illustrate myself on that first night after we got back to our house, desperately trying to get cell coverage in the pitch black of my front yard. It was quite creepy with no lights on like that...
If anyone's interested I'm available for rapid fire sketch commissions, I just want to get back into drawing again. I might even be open to some form of requests, though I typically shy away from those. Might do some like, polls or something for a drawing topic.
It's guuuuuuuuuuud to be back (sorta)
