If you watched my first Let's Play and have an exceptionally good memory, you may remember me mentioning the first randomised Pokemon I ever got - Amante the Charmeleon, who later evolved into Charizard. Here's a screenshot of her in-game: (link)

Notice her held item? Well, fairly early on I gave her the Wise Glasses to give all her special moves a power boost. Shortly afterward, I imagined her wearing them and it was the cutest thing ever. The other day, over a year later, I suddenly had this vision of an anthro version of her with a lab coat and I knew I had to draw her looking adorkable. I deliberately made the glasses as big and exaggerated as possible to enhance the effect. Normally I'm against giving scalies boobs (q.v. all of my female scalie pictures), but here it just kind of made sense (and no, not because she knows Milk Drink).

I recorded this one while I drew it, so the speedpaint is up on YouTube (link above). It took 5.5 hours - probably a little longer than it should have, but I basically had to scrap the first attempt at the body sketch because I couldn't get the proportions right. And I couldn't quite figure out the colouring for a while, but I eventually got it. This is yet another new method for shading: cel shading, plus some very basic soft shading on top with Photoshop's "Screen" filter to give it a little pizzazz. I think it turned out all right, but I'm not so sure about the background.
