But with that out of the way I'll skip the boring intro and get right into the information!
Teddy's family, on his mother's side (aka the pyroar/litleo side), comes from the Petilion family. A fairly old Kalos family that, while having been around for a long time, lacks any major achievements to their name… save for one. More than five generations back they, alongside two other families, were the co founders of "Adventure Kingdom" Kalos's currently longest running/oldest theme park. A medieval themed attraction, tying back to Kalos's history of kings and castles, it is well known for it's numerous costumed mascot characters, various rides for all ages, and impressive gift shops making it a popular attractions for locals and tourists alike.
Despite having had a large hand in founding this theme park Teddy's family has had less and less of a role with the park's management as time has gone on. Despite still having a good amount of stock in the park and a nominal seat on the board of directors Teddy's two uncles and aunt work fairly normal jobs at the park for the most part. His aunt and uncle (twins and the babies of their generation) work as actors in the parks various live shows and occasionally as suit actors wearing the mascot costumes, all to entertain park goers. The oldest brother Richard works as one of the parks engineers and as the main conductor for the park's train (which might not fit the theme of the park but it's gotten big enough over the years to need a fast transport method visitors can use and enjoy like a ride). Being the oldest he also represents the family on the rare occasion they're asked their thoughts for a new direction for the park or bring up a suggestion.
It is Richard who regularly visits his sister, her son Teddy, and the extended family since the twins haven't been able to travel out of Kalos for the past several years for multiple reasons. And every time he visits he brings presents… particularly he brings some of Adventure Kingdom's famous plushies. Thanks to Adventure Kingdom's long history they tend to cycle through their various mascots, and the shows and pop-up attractions based on them, on a seasonal basis to keep visitors from being bored with the same thing visit after visit. With those seasonal changes comes a shift in the stock of plushies in the gift shop ranging from small keychain sized ones to massive ones fit to be used for pillows all made with impressive detail and quality. Both Teddy and Vanessa have a small army (almost literally since several knights are among the princesses, wizards, and royalty) of these plushies from their uncle's visits as of yet he hasn't had to give either of them a repeat showing just how many different mascots the park has…
But the most special and important one to Teddy is the first one he ever got from his uncle. His exact memories of when he got it are fussy at best… but he remembers the plushie used to be as big as he was back then. And he still remember his uncle introducing him to his new bestest buddy in the world King Roar. While Teddy knows that the plushie represents an important mascot to the park… he never really carried about that at all. All he knew what that King Roar was his friend and cuddle companion and, when he was old enough to properly put the needed thoughts together in his head, his imaginary friend. He always picture him being so big and strong and wise and warm and kind~ King Roar the imaginary friend lasted all the way to 3rd grade before Teddy finally put him away… though he didn't stop bringing King Roar the plushie with him everywhere till much later than that.
Of course… that was until King Roar the imaginary friend came BACK. Who knows what'll become of Teddy or his mental stability now…
And that’s the backstory. Here we see Teddy (sporting his casual, not humiliating clothes for once) with the imaginary King Roar on one side of him and the plushie version of King Roar on the other side (both sized to scale to the small lion cub). A larger image of the plushie version is up in the corner for you that wanna see details since, while it was as big as Teddy when he was little, he’s gained quite a bit on it since then.
Meanwhile the background (which I’m quite proud of) is a cartoonish representation of the front gates of Adventure Kingdom. I hope you enjoy it, I plan to use it more in the future for Teddy, his other Adventure Kingdom plushies, and anything further about the theme park that I post up ^_^
Anyway I hope you all enjoyed that, feel free to ask any questions about Adventure Kingdom, Teddy’s relatives, King Roar, or any related topics you might have… within reason of course.
Please enjoy, fav & comment, and have a nice day ^,^
