The Wizard Rivals by BGN
“All right, students, let’s see what you’ve got here. Is this the smokescreen potion?”
Professor Wright, of House Hufflepuff, turned to his two students, holding a pitch-black vial of liquid to the light. The squabbling began instantly.
“You monohorned muggle!” the stripy dragon in the Slytherin robes exclaimed. “You put so much nightshade into it we’ll shroud all of Hogwarts in smoke!”
“Shut up, barcode lizard!” the rhino in the Gryffindoor robes retorted. “I saw you put sulphur in there! That’s going to make it combust! Professor Wright!”
“Students, please. Did you remember the bat wing?”
“Bah!” the striped dragon exclaimed. “Mop head couldn’t tell bat wing from a peacock feather if you tickled him with it!”
The rhino’s nostrils were flaring. “Oh, why don’t we use your salamander tail instead!?”
The dragon’s eyes went wide. “Salamander!? I’m not a-“
The rhino was on a roll. “Or maybe you could lay some newt eggs, bug muncher?”
A sharp hiss. A growl. The wands came out. Professor Wright knocked his glasses off as he hurriedly stepped in between the two. “Now, now, we mustn’t-“
“Expelliarmus!” The professor’s wand flew from his hand.
“Stupendo!” A flash of light stunned him.
“Incendio!” A spray of flame burned his robes to cinders.
The two students froze, eyes locked, wands pointed at each other. In between them, their hapless teacher blinked.
“I-I’m on fire…!”
His students gave him an exasperated look. The next formula was cast in tandem.
“Aguamenti!”
A powerful shower of water extinguished him, leaving wafts of smoke trailing to the ceiling. The professor coughed.
“A-Adharc… K-Kai… the headmaster’s office… now.”
Completely in sync, the two rivals sheathed their wands, tossed their heads, and harrumphed. Only when they saw their professor’s eye starting to twitch did they realize evacuating the area might indeed be a very good idea. Even then, they bickered all the way to their punishment.

The excellent BGN drew Emerson teaching his two rival students, ThorsonEyja the stripy dragon and KaiDragon the rhino. Ah, the life of a teacher.
