"Photo-Op: Steven In Rock 'N' Roll Chair, NYC / 6-26-17"
posted 8 years ago Anthro Artist
Continuing my series of 'photo-ops', involving my reunion with "Rowrbrazzle" contributor Steven F. Scharff (who I hadn't seen since 1993), the scene shifts over to the Times Square area in midtown Manhattan...
The lower section of Times Square (near the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street) has been converted into a pedestrian walkway - with all sorts of venues and attractions for both the local residents and out-of-town visitors.
One of these attractions is something for the kids: a bunch of oddly-shaped hard plastic seats with a rounded point at the bottom - designed so that anyone who sits in it will gyrate (based on the user's body weight distribution). I like to call them "rock 'n' roll chairs"! But, if you've never seen them before, you'd swear that it looks like a bunch of large red pushpin tacks on the world's biggest desk!
Steven and I dared each other to sit in one of these unorthodox conveyances (and while one sits, the other will take a picture of him). Steven went first, while I'd used my disposable camera to capture the moment! As he rolled around, he shouted out, "I'm gonna fall! I'm gonna fall!" (And, luckily, he didn't!)
Stick around for my turn in the "rock 'n' roll chair", coming up shortly...
