final request 37/128: Kanalratte? Dir geb ich Kanalratte!!
request for
Lylithix featuring Eternal and Thomas Fireheart alias Puma from the Marvel Superhero-Comic-universe. Puma has misstaken Eternal for a mutant rat called Vermin and is now learning that Eternal doesn´t respond too well to offensive guys...
this time I tried out a new experiment for the colors of the background. By doing the colorpencil coloring purposely rough and without shading and also using unnatural colors, I tried out to make the background more surreal like the Election posters in Austria in the 1920s. Or like the backgrounds in the Pink Panther cartoons from the 1970s^^

I see. But I hope it isn´t as cold as over here in Austria, was close to the first snowflakes yesterday
And Eternal has little symphaty for folks with poor manners... adults should have allready learned to think before acting... but against human stupidity even god struggles in vaine...

no, not really. Eternal is more like a symbol, a personification or embodyment of an abstract paradoxon. He is the emptyness itself, and that allows him to enter any and all dimension and thus he can be everyone and perform every role and magic
But he is always up to keep the existence and the creation in balance so he limits his body and ability to fit into the dimension he is currently visiting

As I said in my previous comment this turned out even better than I imagined, in particular once again with the beautiful background which in addition to the influences you've stated I think has a noir feeling to it, quite appropriate for the New York setting and like a lot of your backgrounds there are the many small details to look for once you draw your focus away from Puma and Eternal. Puma as well I think turned out very nicely, just how he looks in the comics albeit this is probably the closest you'd see him actually smiling.
This situation could have been a simple misunderstanding, Puma tracking Vermin from a distance via smell and maybe seeing Eternal amongst the shadows it could be easy to mistake one anthro rat for another. With the actual Vermin in the sewer just below his scent probably overrode Eternal's and by the time he could have realised his mistake he'd already uttered the fatal words. Of course now that he's got no choice to observe he can see that this is a well-groomed and smartly clad rat, and an accomplished sorcerer not to mention a personification of an abstract concept so he's lucky that Eternal is relatively easy going. He could perhaps have apologised but would be too stubborn and determined to try not to lose his dignity by laughing and probably angry at his own predicament.
Once he does realise his mistake and that he's personally insulted and offended Eternal's honour, there may be a different problem for Eternal that being Thomas Fireheart's particular honour code, as he'd likely feel he owed Eternal a debt of honour to be repaid regardless of any mutual dislike and whether or not Eternal wants anything further to do with him. That might also be while possibly wanting to have revenge for this humiliation, though I think in the end he might actually apologise. I imagine Eternal though will probably just want to settle for never seeing him again.
I imagine Vermin will be quite amused if he's listening in though probably too cautious to make his presence known at the moment though I could see him possibly stalking and attempting to make contact with Eternal. He is more of a bestial type, cunning but more instinctual, cowardly but savage and does have an ability to communicate with and mentally command normal rats, so could be a nuisance though I think more likely might see Eternal as a possible friend or maybe even alpha rat, but still potentially dangerous. Still being considerably less well-groomed and altogether more feral and likely rather dirty from being in the sewer, Eternal might wonder exactly how Puma ended up mistaking one for the other. Maybe though there might be some sympathy and possible understanding, or at least an interesting encounter.
