You was on the wrong side of the head. Every horse has it's own personality, and some are just plain silly. It's when you least expect it that they show-off. All animals exhibit expressions, you just have to be looking the right way to see them. Keep an open mind.

Like the Horse long ago I saw Licking his Lips and he did not care who saw him doing it.

or the Gelding that wanted to be Noteced by the Mares in the Paddock( I had just Finnished Brushing down a Mare I had Ridden) I tended to Her Hurts and then Went to leave she followed me and Proceeded to grasp my Hand in her mouth and suck on it. she did this infront of the Gelding He proceeded to Flatten his Ears and Dip his Head. He looked so Deflated I realy felt sorry for him....

sounds like you got used. Needless to say, they do express themselves, but only a few people have opened their minds to really see them. Once someone learns their body language, it's amasing what one will see and learn.
