Even though I'm late for "Throwback Thursday", I have one more photo montage to share with you...
Back on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, I'd used to the digital camera feature of my tablet (and stood on the catwalk in front of my apartment) to take a 'before' shot of 4th Place - the street that leads up to my condo building in Oriole Gardens (the Margate, Florida complex where I live) - in anticipation of the arrival of "Hurricane Irma", and what its wrath could've done to the other buildings on said street, a few days later...
When I'd returned (from Monarch High School - an emergency shelter - in Coconut Creek) on Monday, September 11th, I'd taken the 'after' shot of 4th Place - only to discover that (apart from two or three uprooted tree, and a lot of broken branches), the scenery looked exactly the same. In retrospect, this would've made a lousy photo montage... until two weeks ago... on Friday, October 13th... Friday the Thirteenth!
Believe it or not, on that day, the water main right in front of my condo building broke, causing a small flood. The condo association immediately called for some assistance, who cut off the water supply to my building for several hours before beginning repairs.
Long story short, said repairs (replacing the old pipe with a new one, and refilling the hole with fresh dirt) took two days - meaning that everyone in my condo building went without water for hours for a second day. Using the aforementioned tablet, I took a second 'after' shot from the same location I took the original 'before' and 'after' ("Hurricane Irma") photos. Later, using my PC's Paint program, I replaced the old 'after' shot with the new one, and made a much better photo montage out of this! Now, you can really tell the difference between the two shots I'd taken of 4th Place! (BTW, the safety cones are still standing where the water main break took place!)
