On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, Scrabble Club 276 gathered for their annual Halloween meeting at the Veterans Club in Lauderhill, Florida. (I attended said meeting - not so much to win any games, as much as to try to win a prize associated with the holiday.)
Because Halloween took place on the Tuesday after this meeting, members were invited to wear a costume for the occasion... None of them did. (The only thing I'd worn that evening was a T-shirt with 'werewolves' on it, but that was all.)
The only individual who put on a costume was Club President Sandee Bloom - who went as a pirate. Ironically, Sandee was losing the sight in her right eye, and had to wear an eyepatch...
"It only seemed logical for me to buy a pirate's hat to go with the patch," she told everyone at the meeting.
I had brought along a tablet, and decided to use the digital camera portion of it to take a 'photo-op' of Sandee (between games).
