Since this is the first "Throwback Thursday" in November, 2017 (my latest 'sweeps month'), I thought I'd post the initial offering in a variety of 'animal photo-ops' - this one taken back in late October...
It was raining heavily, earlier that day, around the Oriole Gardens condo complex in Margate, Florida. When said rain finally passed, I was looking out from the back porch of my second-floor condo, when I saw (what I'd estimated to believe was) over three dozen ibises (the curved-billed bird that's native to the 'Sunshine State'). They were grazing in the grassy area behind my building, picking up bugs and worms all over the place...
Then, members of the flock began to fly towards me, landing on the roof of my building. When I'd stepped outside, through the front door, and went down the stairs, I saw all of the ibises resting on the roof, at the building's north end.
I immediately ran back into my condo, to retrieve my tablet, and set it on 'camera' (in an attempt to capture this rare moment of nature). Unfortunately, by the time I went back outside, half the flock already flew off the roof, and alighted onto the grass on the other side of the parking lot. And just as I was ready to shoot, a few more of them flew off. So, I'd finally managed to get a digital photo of the three remaining ibises on said roof. It's not the same as capturing the entire flock in one picture, but it was better than nothing!
