This is a dumb comment, but it's nice to see someone who also makes a point of using public domain pictures!
I got concerned when I saw how it could become a big problem if you weren't careful and I've made sure ever since that they were for public use before using them in my art

Oh ya I've tried scouring the internet for free-to-use vectors, photos, and patterns before (and without adobe illustrator, it was definitely hard to find vectors and patterns I could actually use :"D) so public domain is a godsend. Definitely much easier than worrying about copyright and royalties, and I'm glad to hear someone else is doing that too!
