Theodora hasn't reached that stage yet. She's about 9 at this point.

Oh my, royalty so hates (and fears) anyone that doesn't do whatever they command on the instant, makes them uncomfortably aware how little real power that they have and how helpless they'd be without their servants. At least Rossweisse is providing training that could prove of immense aid in the future in case of problems.

That's true with my boss at work too.

And Rossweisse would say the "Anyone who doesn't know how to fight is at the mercy of those who do."

One of the older forgotten realms novels had some characters from oriental setting show up in it, and the diplomatic representative later into the novel demonstrates exceptional martial arts skill when he disables someone with little effort and when asked about it simply replied that they'd be poor elite if they couldn't handle their warriors. So the writer for that story at least realized the importance of the nobility needing to be trained in self-defense just in case.

Hrmm...I fight in the SCA (sca.org) and the idea that the Ladies should use pole arms seems to be the consensus...

It was quite delightful!

Training counts for more than strength (not that Rossweisse lacks either). Being very caste conscience, Rossweisse thinks of the sword as the weapon of nobility.

Women possess wonderfully fast reflexes, and a speedy attack by a well trained woman can disable even well armored foes. I like women who can scare me with sharp things.... I like where this is going.

Learning a good lesson. "Those that do not live by the sword can still fall to them." I forgot what movie that quote was off of.

I like Theodora's new toys! The joy of teaching a small girl how to kill people. :3
