Ordinarily, I would post recent 'photo-ops' on "Throwback Thursdays", but since this is a 'sweeps month' (November, 2017), I've reserved that day for posting some terrific animal pix I'd taken (earlier this year) at the Palm Beach Zoo.
But I'd chosen today to post one of the most recent 'photo-ops' that had occurred on last Wednesday (November 15, 2017), when I'd won yet another prize at the latest meeting of Scrabble Club 276 at Veterans Park in Lauderhill, Florida...
That evening, club president Sandee Bloom was giving out a prize in honor of "National Peanut Butter Month". Said prize was a one-pound jar of Peter Pan(R) Honey-Roasted Smooth Peanut Butter - which would go to the club member who (in the first two games) came up with the highest-scoring word that contained the lettered titles 'B' and 'P' in them. (Sandee allowed a little leeway for all players, by accepting 'blank' tiles to be used as either a 'P' or a 'B' [or both letters, if one player obtains the two 'blanks' in his/her game], and allowing those letters to be used in any order.)
Long story short, I'd earned the peanut butter prize (in Game Two) by making a word with natural 'P' and 'B' tiles that ended with an 'S' - which connected to a vertical word, pluralizing it and adding more points to my score (and the 'B' tile of my word was resting atop the 'Triple Word Score' space). I'd scored 39 points in total for the (ironic) word, "BURPS"!
Using her digital camera, Sandee took a picture of me (in a Harley-Davidson T-shirt, sporting a wolf on it), both with my prize and the sign observing "National Peanut Butter Month"! She E-mailed me said 'photo-op' two days later, and I'm sharing it with all of you...
(BTW, I might seriously consider donating my peanut butter prize to a local 'food bank' for the upcoming holidays.)
I can't wait to attend the next Scrabble Club 276 meeting (on Wednesday, November 22, 2017), which is the pre-Thanksgiving one! In the past, I'd won prizes connected to 'Turkey Day' - including a box of Stove-Top Stuffing(R) (one year) and a can of yams (another year). And if I do win, I can assure you that another 'photo-op' of me with the prize will be eminent!

That's good news. It's nice to see you gaining a bit of recognition, and a dandy food prize too. I realize that I had been playing Scrabble all wrong through the years, merely making up words with the tiles I was given. I never thought the blank tiles could be used as "Substitute" letters, and erroneously believed they were some type of "Penalty" for the game.
