I don't know, I just think that "Haha, I guess that's true" sounds like Kai was responding to him making an observation as though it's obvious. But, he's saying "Why am I not surprised?" I guess it might just be me. Personally, I've never heard anybody pair those two phrases together in real life or in writing. It reads weird to me and especially if I read it aloud. If anything, i'd change his dialogue to say "That sounds like him."
Also, yes. I got the names wrong at first, I can't remember the character's name right now and I don't have enough time to look it up and come back to this page while also working on my writing, I'm sorry for making this a long post xD
