Kylie Is team leader of the Warrior Ways, Mystic Methods team. She is the other warrior on the team and prefers the sword. Against her mother's wishes she was originally trained by her grandfather after he caught her chasing rodents out of the granary with a stick promising to "Show them the vengeful wrath of Kylie Slyden". At the warrior academy a class of older males attempted to show her that girls belong on their backs not in the barracks. Her grandfather, a veteran of several wars had taught her well. Her place in the barracks was well established after that.

Years ago during a war for the king, she was struck from behind by a glancing mace blow. It damaged the base of her tail. When the injury healed she could no longer move it, the tail just drops behind her. In order to sit she has to reach back and manually lift it.
