Hey guys, it's almost Christmas by the time you read this. XD
It's time for a special one this time around. After much debate and discussion with Chad on deciding what #3 and 4 would be, this one was next in line. Let's get to it!
Montecristo Espada Robusto:
Wrapper: Nicaragua Habano
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
The box was nice and well dressed with all the sticks laying out neatly in a row. The look from the head to toe, the 3 bands wrapped around made this lovely chocolate brown wrapper. Like a soldier ready for duty it made it's appearance look professional. Seems and Veins were present, but was mainly covered by the 3 bands to pay attention. Still presentable though. :D Let's light it up!
The Burn Part 1:
The draw was sublime and very fluent. Alot of earthy notes were present. Gave more of a earthy notes in the beginning. Very natural start for a stick I had in awhile. Some sweet notes followed by as well couldn't place them at this point. As more puffs came the sweet notes were a light cocoa giving it an outdoor feel in the morning as the sun rises. Nothing sweeter than that. Before the end of the first 3rd there was a bit of black pepper coming into place. Not too strong, but gave a balance for everything else.
The Burn Part 2:
As the 2nd part comes into play the notes stay pretty much the same except the earth notes tone a bit down from here. There was a bit of oaky notes coming into the mix and blended with the earth notes making it more of a natural blend. I had to peel off the middle band to let the burn further progress.Near the end, the pepper builds up a little bit. Sharp too.
The Burn Final:
The earthy notes have diminished while the oak had pretty much taken it's place. The light cocoa notes became a little more thicker. The stick has become a little spongey at this point. with the final few draws, the pepper and oak has pretty much taken the tie on this one. With the cold draw finishing it, I took a swig of my scotch and socialized with my buds.
Verdict:
Sharp, Neat, Prestige, and Sophistication with a hint of sweetness. A very well made cigar for the line. May be a bit steep in price, but great for a special occasion. Grab you a couple.
Next Week: Montecristo Artisan Blend Batch 2
See you then!
