I found out in my research that he didn't have a number until the mid-1800s, except in Belgium, where he was the 22nd card in the major arcana. *the more you know plays quietly in the distance*

The tarot deck is more interesting to me as simply archetypes for characters and stories, and as an actual tool for playing interesting games--the divinitory aspects don't appeal, but it's always interesting to learn these historical things. (Edited because it sounded like I was being a rude ass before.)

Oh, no, I totally understand! I love the history and symbolism and mythos around tarot decks and always wanted to design one just for my own satisfaction. Now that I have a portfolio that I have to build by this time next year, I have a good reason to finally do it!

Well, I’m still trying to keep in theme for the traditional symbolism of the cards, so it may just be a woman with a lion, since that’s the traditional illustration for it. I’ll probably add my own flair, but I want to be able to potentially sell these once they’re done.
