Any pronouns, though most identify as male
They are an intelligent species with a height rang of 6-8ft tall. A genetic condition (exceptionally rare) can have them fall below that.
Their appearance is male representing and their build is stocky. They have the ability to stack on muscle mass easily.

There always a minimum of four horns on the crown of their head, with the exception of faux horns that decorate their head and neck that are actually armoured plating of that shape. Their teeth are retractable (think ‘Toothless’ from HTTYD) and many most accept this as their default appearance when their mouth is not in function. Their claws/talons are permanently extended.

There is no limitation to the colour of the skin/pelt of a Volken, although those without pattern or a brightly-hued skin will make up for it by adorning various articles of clothing, or tattooing/marking designs on themselves.
The feel of their skin in question is leathery and sleek, with a matte finish that has decent protection against scarring and imperfections. Volkens are warm-blooded, and generate a lot of heat. If in the sun for too long, they can overheat.

Some uncommon traits:
Larger, extended talons, tail (long or short/stumpy or rope-like), armour plating, forked tongue.
Some rare traits:
Fur or feathers (main/tail), fu-dog teeth (unable to retract), dual genitals (like a snake’s), additional horn(s), smaller appearance.
