The daily grind is hard at times.
Once yoou stumble through the doorway and pour yourself a drink from your favorite mug, just throw your clothes on the floor and sit in your custom-fitted couch, just as the evening sun sets, hugging yoou with a perfectly aimed sunbeam throough the window.

I like to think he was just having the worst luck that day, with absolutely everything going wrong that could go wrong. And he was about to use yoou as a stress ball to make up for it. I'll bet it was a pain to get a hold of that questionable potion. Does it even work as advertised?
