vallygirlly made a story about this dorks for a trade, planned time ago X3enjoy!
A nice and sunny day meant a chance for the beach. Marcos had been wanting that for the past few weeks, what with both his work and the weather not permitting much chances. But he sure as hell didn’t want to enjoy it all by himself.
Thinking on those he’d not hung out with in some time Marcos decided to call up his good friend Grisha. He was lucky to have caught the big, lovable tiger at home and not off on one of his trips; Grisha even mentioning that he had just returned from one with his aunt not two days ago. The plan was made and the two agreed to meet in about two hours at the beach.
All set and dressed in his trunks with a backpack full of the essentials he was off. He had waited about a half hour after getting ready to give Grisha a head start, knowing where he lived from the beach and the time it would take. Marcos however had a much more devious plan in mind to arrive later in the hopes of surprising his friend in some way. He was always a joker with his friends but with Grisha it was more “required” as it were.
Having known Grisha for years Marcos had always seen him as the stern, serious yet quiet type. But even a big guy like him had a softer, lighter side to him that could be exploited. Not many could reach it but Marcos was one of those few who had the charm to make it seem like a natural talent. He intended to put it to use today when he and his friend met.
Managing through the traffic proved the worst part for Marcos as he made his way to the beach. If not trying to get to the same place as him it seemed like everyone was just taking advantage of the nice weather to get out and do whatever needed doing. When he finally arrived he worried he might have been too late and Grisha thought he abandoned their original plan. Thankfully he didn’t need to search long down the beach before spotting his large, stripped friend.
Grisha had set up his spot a nice pace back from where the waters met the sand. An umbrella was set up for the shade while a blanket and chair with a bag sitting next to it were also ready. He was a little surprised to see that Grisha was digging a hole, not very deep but long in length while carefully putting all the sand in a larger pile. As Marcos carefully approached he could hear each crunch of the shovel into the sand as each layer was harder than the last.
As Grisha stopped to take a break and sip down some water Marcos carefully snuck up on his friend with the intent to pounce on him. Each step was and quiet and easy and possible, even managing to lightly drop his bag without being noticed.
Just as he came up to him however Marcos felt a hand grab his ankle, seeing too late it was Grisha’s as he pulled forward and forced the fox to fall on his back. He groaned a little before sitting up to see the smirking face of his friend looking back, his eyes covered by a pair of shades he’d not see.
“Nice try.” Grisha smiled.
Macros chuckled as he got to his feet, brushing sand off of him while commenting “Damn cat ears. Should’ve known better.” After that he greeted him properly before asking “What’s with the hole?”
“Feel like doing sand castle. Wanted lots of sand. Need the more solid stuff for a base.”
Marcos nodded before getting his stuff from his backpack, putting some of it next to Grisha’s stuff, before asking “So how’ve you been?”
“Good.” Grisha answered while getting back to his digging. “Trip with my aunt was nice. Since I haven’t seen her in so long it was good to spend time with her.”
As Marcos kept asking what seemed like tedious questions he pulled a soda from his pack and shook it up in secret. He kept hiding the smile trying to force itself on his face as he shook it well enough before casually putting it behind him.
Eventually the conversation had reached to where Grisha asked “Have you talked to Dora?”
“Recently? Nah. Why?”
He shrugged “Seems different when I came back. Said she just had important talk with someone and that was it.”
“Wasn’t me, man.” Marcos waved it off. Afterwards he noticed Grisha run out of water and offered the soda can. “Here. If you want it.”
With an offer like that Grisha accepted and took the drink. Marcos was lucky to keep his face straight enough up until Grisha popped the can open, the fizzy drink spraying all over his face immediately.
After licking up some of it off his lips Grisha, keeping a straight face, commented “Grape. Not my favorite.”
“Grape. Not my favorite.” Marcos mocked in a rather well done impression of Grisha. “Oh look at me. I’m all serious and don’t like grape soda. Yet I’m not above building sand castles.”
“Better than you can.” Grisha smirked, presenting a challenge to Marcos.
The fox boy was about to say something but stopped himself and wagged his finger “Oh no you don’t. Not going to draw me into that one. I KNOW you do that better than me.”
“Worth a shot.” Grisha shrugged before pointing to the water. “Need to wash.”
Marcos nodded and watched as Grisha made his way to the ocean water to wash up. While he did that Marcos unpacked the rest of the things in his pack, setting up a spot right next to Grisha’s. The most annoying part was trying to set his towel close enough as to get under the shade of the umbrella but not too close to invade in Grisha’s area. True they were friends but they did agree to “personal space” after all. That didn’t stop Marcos from picking up Grisha’s shades to give himself a “cooler” look.
Once his spot was set up Marcos took a moment to relax and stretch out. He wanted to really “soak up the day” as he laid out on his towel. The nice beat of the sun’s heat and the cool breeze of the sea coming up to greet him for the moment was almost exotic and dreamlike for Marcos. A truly beautiful day indeed.
His head laid back he could sense Grisha’s return as Marcos asked “Enjoy your swim?”
“Yes. Found a cute friend too.”
“Oh?”
As Marcos looked up Grisha dropped a crab onto his chest, making him freak out and jump from his place as he scrambled away from it. Once he was on his feet he caught his breath while the angry little crustacean snapped before trying to walk back to the ocean.
Grisha laughed low in his throat at Marcos before the fox nodded “Okay, okay. Very funny.” After he calmed he said “Look I really did want to come out here and just hang with you. So before we kill each other over all these little pranks let’s call a truce now, okay?”
Grisha only gave it a moment’s thought before holding out his hand and declaring “Truce.”
After they shook hands Marcos looked at the pile of sand and asked “So….how big we going to make this castle?”
With that the two decided to make building the sand castle out of the giant mound of dug up sand their own personal project for the day. With Grisha’s expertise and Marcos providing an extra pair of hands the two went to work almost immediately.
As time went on people would often stop to ask the boys what they were trying to make, Marcos pulling up the proposed image of a fine looking castle from somewhere in Ireland as the base. Some would take pictures or, in some cases, small children would offer handfuls of seashells and the like to decorate their little sculpture.
Grisha and Marcos continued a normal conversation in-between directions for building the castle. They talked about big things like what they had planned for the up-coming holidays and work events to the little things like what they’d been up to personally; watching T.V. shows or how things had been with their friends or loved ones.
After nearly two hours of work they had finally finished. Looking over their large fortress like creation the two had a bit pf pride in their stance now. People continued to stop by to take pictures and so on but now that it was finished it seemed more of an accomplishment for the pair.
As Marcos settled he let out a low wind and said “Damn. Fun as that was it sure took the wind out of me.”
Grisha chuckled “Never said it would be easy.”
Marcos nodded as he sat down and mentioned “I need to cool down.”
“Drink.” Grisha suggested. After Marcos found a bottle of water from his bag Grisha also suggested “Should sit somewhere cooler too.”
After near guzzling down the whole bottle Marcos asked “Under the umbrella?”
Grisha shook his head before pointing to the hole he’d made from shoveling, saying “Layers of sand between you and the sun. Nice and cool while keeping you warm. Almost like a bed.”
“You sure?” Marcos asked. “You’re not tired?”
“Want to get something to eat.” Grisha “I’ll stop by the snack stand. Bring you back something if you want.”
Marcos waved it off. “I’m good. Just something else to drink if you can.”
Grisha nodded before walking off to let Marcos rest. Taking his friend’s suggestion Marcos took a spot in the hole and found it was practically as Grisha said it would be. The cooler layers of the deeper sand and the rays from the sun narrowly reaching down to his level provided a nice sweet spot for Marcos to regain himself.
Feeling so comfortable Marcos didn’t realize until he was already starting to fall asleep how drowsy he was. He rested his head perfectly on the little drop of sand with the shades over his eyes and slowly slipped away.
When Marcos stirred from his little nap the first thing he realized was how heavier he felt. So much so he couldn’t even move his arms or legs to stretch or get up. The moment he looked and saw his body replaced by nothing but sand he realized why.
“Have a nice nap?” Grisha said, eating a hotdog in his chair next to where Marcos was buried.
The fox boy groaned “Oh come on, man! I thoguth we agreed no more pranks.”
“We did.” The tiger began. “But this prank was agreed to before that.”
“Agreed with who?”
Marcos’ answer came when someone from the other side removed the shades from his eyes. He looked and was surprised to see a familiar bunny girl, all dressed in a stunning bikini, smiling next to him.
“Hey, cutey.” Stacy, Marcos’ girlfriend, gleamed at him.
“Oh you’ve got to be kidding.” Marcos both laughed and shook his head best he could.
Stacy giggled “Grisha had this all planned out when you called about hanging out.”
“I know you too well, my friend.” Grisha added as he finished his meal. “Admit it: you’d have done the same.”
Marcos wanted to disagree but stopped himself and blushed “Well….maybe.”
“But not today.” Stacy pinched his nose. “You’re mine for now.”
While Marcos struggled Grisha gathered his belongings and, after getting all of them in his bag, said “I’m off. You two enjoy yourselves.” He reclaimed his shades from Stacy he winked to Marcos “See you around.”
Marcos tried to plea to be freed by Stacy, being her playful self, covered his mouth and nose until he gave up. Eventually Grisha was out of sight and likely already on his way home, leaving the fox captive to the devious whims of his girlfriend. She continued to tease and taunt, even to wiggling her butt in his face knowing he couldn’t reach to touch her with his hands.
Despite this Marcos had to laugh at how well he was outplayed. One day he’d get Grisha back somehow but for now he had to man up and take his defeat, enjoyable as it was, in stride.
