“You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.” ~ Epicurus (Greek philosopher)

I’m missing someone… Hope he is ok.
Also I have an interesting challenge to all that read this. If you’re willing write one paragraph, 5 or more sentences, describing the weather outside and try to have it follow the mood or feeling that you get when you look at it. Post it here as a reply if you’d like or on your page and link it.
If this goes pretty well I might be willing to try more interactive stuff in the future.

“This is the story of my Pokesona, Mediteral. Searching for his mother who is believed to be dead, as well as facing discrimination from being a hybrid and wearing a skull believed to have belonged to his mother.”

“There are things that one requires, that not even his mate can promise him. It doesn't have to be erotic things. Something as simple, even, as holding your loved one and telling him that he will always be safe in your hands. For some odd reason, I will never have that simple luxury. This feeling is not unlike being stranded in barren waters, where you are alone and helpless, save your own tenacity. This is a poem describing such feelings.”

The sun shined down on the earth bearing its heat on the lower life forms. While the breeze played against the plants and trees adding to the music of the streets. Through the leaves gently waving in the breeze, hidden in the shadow they cast I sit. A bottle of water in one had an ipod in the other panting lightly. Damn I shouldn’t go running near noon anymore...
Refreshing warmth falls, beautiful slivers of light pouring over shimmering tree-tops. The breeze washes over me, it's teasing fingertips making me wish for more. The only sound I can hear, is that of the golden-green whisps of foliage, whispering to eachother blithely as the cool breeze touches even them. The rays of summer touch the back of my neck, and I can feel the glare of the sun for the first time of the day. Sweat gathers like dew upon my brow, and I silently wish for a glass of water. I can feel the cold water condensing on the glass, and my mouth begins to water. I reach for my cold glass, and realize, there and suddenly, that it's not real. I sigh, my thoughts returning to reality, and prepare myself for another long day of summer heat.
Smoke had filled the western sky. The horizon itself seemed to disappear behind the threatening black cloud imitators. I stood behind the layer of glass that separated me from the danger to the north, wondering what it meant for the people that the flames were chasing. (How many of them would come here?) I opened the window and the scent of campfires and happy memories almost convinced me nothing was wrong, but a glance at a sky that looked like it belonged on Mars put my right back in my unsettled place.
(There's a fire to the north, but it's extremely unlikely I'll have to evacuate. We've got awesome firefighters out here. This kind of fire has happened in the same place a couple times before too.)
