- Of Light and Darkness III: Raydl
From delusion lead me to truth.
From darkness lead me to light.
From death lead me to immortality.
So here it is, at last! The final section of "Of Light and Darkness". This was my first song with my newer hardware, so I was able to "let rip" a touch more, without getting the Blue Screen of Death! Best enjoyed turned up :3 For the lurvely

Thanks to those that take a listen! I'm planning on doing a full length uncut feature of all three sections and using it as a pilot for the second volume of Masked... Maybe!

As I was trying to say to you online, I think what I enjoyed most about the melody is the somehow whimsical, transcendent quality - it's magical and soaring and just a bit romantic, with just the right amount of mystery and darkness. And I agree with everyone else who's commented on its story-like quality. You've really got a lot of content and varying mood in this one piece, and no, I didn't miss out on all the lovely little bits you've put in. I especially appreciated the return of Jayli's original theme again in the middle, as well as the "sad oboe" leading back into the music box melody. My favourite part starts at 4:05, which you might have expected, with the sweeping epic melody and dramatic key change ;) Also, the flute at the end is really artfully articulated and sculpted, and indeed, the dropping bass is actually pretty haunting in a dark, subtle sort of way.
Awesome.
Awesome.
He who knows both knowledge and action, with action overcomes death and with knowledge reaches immortality.
Amazing track here, I really enjoyed listening to it all the way through. I can't really tell a outstanding improvement in this work over your last, but it goes without saying this is phenomenal. :3

Nice sound. The woodwind sounds a little dry, but overall as a composition it sounds very good, the motif is strong, if still to my ears sounds a little borrowed. Some of the percussion is..interesting. Doesn't exatly sit, it's more modern than most orchestral stuff which is quite refreshing.. Well composed piece of neo classical, love it.
Slowly as she began to dream, memories of a world long forgotten began to pass before her. A music box and a crescent moon. As she walked through the ruined halls of avalon, the ghosts of old began to dance. A party long ended, spirits searching for light. A light that nolonger falls on avalon. Their melodie glides as they amidst the winds of night. A song of fables and magic, the never ending song of dreams. In joy she too began to dance, and in her slumber began to cry. Tears wept for a world consigned to dreams..
beautiful as always, your music always inspires me to right. if only i could coalesce my work into a coherent story..lol

I seem to have an idea of a dream. Someone that is just floating through the dream and discovering bits and pieces of his/her life as they float gently by. Some parts are worth remembering and one could wish they could last forever and some parts that one could wish would just go away. You certainly do have some inspiring music. Thank you for sharing.
This is too beautiful and well done for me not to comment on it. You might have seen the massive amounts of favoriting I've done just recently of your work. I watched you a long time ago, but never actually took the time to listen. Now I am, and it's blowing me away. You have incredible talent. Expect a lot more faves from me and possibly a commish soon, if you're taking them :3
The music box was such a lovely touch - and actually I have to agree with Kira, parts of it reminded me of Howl's Moving Castle too (a movie I happen to love!).
The way you weaved together the various themes is really lovely. I'll probably end up listening to it several times over.
