You can’t let the purple and pink feline slip away again, so you rush off to the Music Room. Like everything else in Theo’s home, it’s garishly decorated, with huge sheets of music decorating the room. Trying to shoulder your way past the crowd, you spot the cheshire, carrying a tray full of red, blue, and green drinks and approaching three more guests. Finally breaking through the herds of big and broad-shouldered guests, you rush to them, shouting a warning to the three guests around the rogue Cheshire.
“What are you talking about?” the first guest, a red wolf in a baseball uniform asked. “This guy’s our connection; we’ve all been desperate for another drink.” The wolf had clearly not gone wanting so far this evening; his limbs were bulging with muscle, almost splitting his sleeves and pants, and his middle was round like a keg, stretching the thread to its limits.
“Hey, I’m just happy to help out new friends,” the Cheshire grins from underneath his mask. “Fortez, JT, and Rourkie here were providing sparkling conversation.”
“I’m just glad the drinks started flowing again. I was starting to think the host went all prohibition era on us,” Fortez said. He was the biggest of the guests, a tall, broad-shouldered orc in a purple tuxedo rumbled, a drink in each hand.
You confront the Cheshire, who is supremely calm. “You know, this is supposed to be a party, why not lighten up?” he says. “Maybe have a drink, hm?” He throws a rather well-muscled arm around your shoulder, pulling you close. “If you heard Theo, he may have mentioned me; Lunostophiles Argonauticus Magistratum Vespatianus Nicholai-Bersk Humbug- or just Lu, if you please.”
Trying to shrug him off, you attempt to lecture Lu about the trouble he’s made, but his only response is a light, airy chuckle. “Listen, this is supposed to be a Cheshire party, but the host is such a fusspot and wants everything just so, I just couldn’t resist messing things up. Make things a little fun for poor Tatsuya, and maybe loosen up Theo.” He elbows you, nodding to the third guest, Rourkie, a rather rotund lapine dressed as the White Rabbit of Wonderland fame. He had downed a blue drink in one go, and the Victorian-style waistcoat around his already broad waist was beginning to tighten as his gut ballooned.
“H-hey!” the rabbit called out, his eyes wide as his middle bulged with new layers of flab, cream colored fur poking out from gaps forced through the buttons. “This isn’t right. I watched what happened with the other colors, blue isn’t supposed to make me fat!”
“See, that’s just what I’m talking about,” the Cheshire explained. “Theo was rusty in planning this party. He didn’t even think about what would happen when his guests eventually figure out what drink does what, and there’s only three of them. So, I changed them around a little. And by a little I mean, a lot.” He nods to the huge orcs. “I hope you don’t mind, because I spiced up your drinks in particular. I can’t resist a handsome orc.”
Fortez frowned from behind his lacquered mask. “Wait… what?” Three conspicuously empty glasses were in his hands, and then an ominous rumble rose from his middle. Lu winks at you, and then the colorful feline slips behind the orc’s broadening back.
“Fortez, you’re going to explode!” JT shouts as he and Rourkie back away. Fortez expanded in all directions, towering over all the other guests as the horns atop his head pierce the ceiling. His chest bulges out with a sheer wave of muscle, popping buttons on his purple tuxedo as green skin shows out of every tear in the outfit. His limbs swell, biceps and thighs bigger than most of the furniture in the room.
You shout to JT and Rourkie to catch Lu, but as Fortez continues to swell and fill out, the wolf and rabbit, both weighed down by their tank-like guts, can’t move fast enough to get around the orc’s expansive, geographical landmass of a back. Lu, despite being rather hefty himself, moves deftly, able to dance around the orc’s back and dodge the lumbering attempts of the guests.
Fortez, struggling to reach behind his surging, massive body, biceps grinding against his own sides, but Lu was literally running circles around all three of them. As you attempt to join in the chase, you have a quick thought, and catch Fortez’ pillar-like leg, felling him like a redwood. The over half-ton orc slams on top of Lu. Rolling around, Fortez grabs the Cheshire, with Lu still smiling bravely as you approach to question him, trapped in an iron grip.
“Ah, but that was bracing! I love a good tussle.” Lu smirks. His arm disappears, only to reappear on top of Fortez’ fist, letting him rest his chin. “Of course, I’m still in a party mood, so if it’s all the same to you, I’m just going to pop down to the cellar and, you know… spice up Theo’s personal stock. I’m sure it’ll really expand the night’s festivities.”
And just like that, Lu disappears, leaving a cackling smile for a few seconds before it fades away, too. Turning on your heel, you rush back to the Atrium to warn Theo!
