Hey guys it's about time I did one for the Padron Family. With the recent passing of Jose Padron, it was a good time. It's my birthday month as well. :D Let's get to it!
Padron Natural Robusto:
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the glance of the box itself, Old School. Nothing flashy, but a classic look. From the Wrapper to the Band. The wrapper itself was a nice milk chocolate color. The touch was a little dry rough, but the firmness made it more appeasing. Seems and veins were moderate. Nothing too complex about this so far.
The Burn Part 1:
From the first few puffs, alot of natural cedar and wood notes to start it off. Very nice and made feel as though I was back out in the fields. The weather is nice and there was a cool breeze to calm down the sun. I was doing a new routine in days off and going back home to cook dinner. The draw was very vivid and loose. Faint black pepper notes came into play as well. Not much came afterwords surprisingly since this was a mainly natural stick. No complaints. It was a nice start for the month.
The Burn Part 2:
As soon as the cedar and wood notes became a little more broader and thicker, there was a slight sweet caramel note coming into play to give it a little more elegance in nature. Some roasted pecan and regular nut notes became a newer take and joined along. More of authentic outdoor cigar feel at this point. Was at the club on my off day and had a couple of errands and therapy. Once that was done, I finally had a cup of coffee with the cigar. Blended great honestly.
The Burn Final:
Once the stick was coming to an end and was becoming spongey. Most of the notes stayed in the same strength from the 2nd part. The pepper kicked up a little bit though. So far nothing changed after that. Once the last draw came, it was the cedar and oak notes that finished first. I was smiling for a more natural start to the month. Very nice indeed.
Verdict:
For a more natural, yet refined stick that has alot of history, I recommend this for any occasion. Grab you a few for such occasions.
