SMT = Shin Megami Tensei, which is the series hierarchy that the Persona series belongs to, and even then, SMT belongs to the larger Megami Tensei series. Sadly, the Persona games are some of the only SMT games released in the US (the others being Devil Children, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Devil Survivor, Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE Online, and the Devil Summoner games).
