This piece was constructed from a number of fragments that I’ve gradually collected over the past three years or so, and is intended to form half of an eventual whole. The biggest influence for the larger piece comes from just how shrill, overbearing, overly emotional, and often how downright ludicrous (and toxic) the narrative has become in a lot of the so-called ‘alternative media’.
This half of the piece goes after the endless insanity that comes from the so-called ‘progressive’ (yeah, right) far left, particularly when brought to us by such fine outlets as Puffington Host, Jezebel, Polygon, Salon, and a few others. Indeed, the use of the term ‘problematic’ comes right from the way and manner in which Salon has chosen to employ it.
The second half of this piece will eventually tackle some of the equally repulsive garbage that’s been coming out of the so-called ‘alt-right’, and which has recently been giving a lot of traction to the old adage that if one chooses to lie down with the dogs, they’re going to get fleas.
I have also used two Biblical references: the first of these coming from 2 Kings 9:10 (KJV), which talks about the False Prophetess Jezebel, and her ultimate fate (doubly apropos, considering one of the alternative media outlets I am specifically calling out):
9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:
10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
The second reference comes from John 12:49 (KJV):
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Since JC didn’t speak of his own accord, this has been adapted into an online joke, which gave me a chuckle, the first time I ran across it: “Jesus drove a Honda, but he didn’t speak about it. ‘For I did not speak of my own Accord’.”
And the final influence comes from the often increasingly shrill (and often downright Orwellian) attempts to change and control traditional language, and force the public at large to adopt neologisms (and this cuts across many aspects of political correctness and so-called ‘progressivism’).

This actually wasn't directed at any one, particular person at all. The only direct targetting was towards the aforementioned left-media outlets. Still, as I have often found out to my own sorrow throughout life... When something seems to hit a little too close to the bone, you should always look within yourself as to why that is.
Trust me, I've been on the shitty end of that equation more than once. All you can do is to try and determine whatever lesson there might be to be learned from it, and move on.
But I'm also glad you CAN see the point I'm making. And I see the right side of the spectrum as being just as guilty if not more so.
