Sorry this took so long. Had some issues with the picture. It didn't want to come out just right. Fairly happy with it now...
The shadows shift and jump eirily as Whault casts light on a second object, adding to the spooky atmosphere in this looted and emptied tomb. Still, the stone lights up just fine as Whault casts light on it, glowing brightly to briefly banish the shadows before he drops it down the hole. The spot of light drops away into the darkness before a loud splash announces the presence of water at the bottom of the hole. Muted illumination fills the chamber underneath your feet, so you can see that a large cavern lies below. About 30 feet below, the bottom of the cavern is filled with water. It's hard to judge with the light source being under the surface, but it appears to be about 20 feet of water covering the now dimly glowing stone. Reflections and refractions from the water's surface casts beautiful patterns of light and dark across the cavern, filling this natural area with a spectral beauty. Stalagmites dip down from the ceiling to the surface of the pool. A small pile of stone blocks and rubble makes a little artificial island in the middle of the pool directly underneath. As Mekie decends, she can see that the pool is about 80 feet accross, the pool shallowing to dry land about 40 feet away where a tunnel leads deeper into the caves.

once mekie makes it down to the floor she will see just how far into the watter the stone is to see if its retrivable and second she will search around for any clue that the people were folowing are heading for the caves. (or is that the ONLY place they could have gone in this cave formation?)
also LOVELY work on the cavern it has this beautiful glow to it

The stone is at the bottom of the pool, near the base of the tumbled blocks from the cave-in that opened the floor from above to let you down here. You could go diving to get it. It's about 20 feet deep where the stone is.
The cavern you are in appears to be a dead end. You can see no other exits except for the one leading deeper into the cave system. The lighting in this cavern is a bit tricky, being as it's currently being lit from under the water, so you cannot see whether or not the floor of the cave leading away is wet.
((and yes, I'm very pleased with the lighting! When Whault dropped the light-rock down the hole, I just KNEW I had to draw this...))

(( I'm glad you did; I love what you did with this one!
The shadows coming from the under-lighting are done really well, as was the colour gradient. Those along with the contrast with the shadowed outcroppings establishes just the right sense of atmosphere. I really dig your colour selection too; I would have intuitively gone with a yellow-orange, but the blue-green gives it a much better feel. ))

"… Splash?"
Whault cocks a brow in confusion, the sound resulting from his rock drop not quite the one he had been expecting. As he takes a moment to peer over the edge and scope out the cavern below, his ears lower while his shoulders noticeably slump. "Awww, cripes…"
(( So… Uhh… Anyone else have a terrible swimming modifier? XD ))

Once everyone else has had a chance to climb down, Whault slips his staff through the harness straps of his pack, freeing his hands and allowing him to shimmy his way down the rope. Upon reaching the bottom he sets his backpack and belt pouch on the rocky island, lightening his load before attempting to make his way across the waters.
(( Should be bringing Whault's carried weight down to 31. I don't expect this to be pretty, but hopefully it won't be disastrous. XD ))
