actually what lopin is doing is surprisingly close to how the royal purple dye is actually made but maybe that is what your inspiration was from in the first place... and or this is a completely new tidbit of knowledge to be placed along with all the other millions of tidbits of knowledge...
Got to say I love Lopin in the last panel, I hope he is naked more often. (Or at least get's a more embarrassing outfit.) And look at how happy Ran's grooming is making him, it's nice to see him get all prettied up. So Ran also has in interest in cosmetology should have guessed based on his looks.

I love how it looks like Ran is puppeting Lopin's locks of hair in the last panel. XD Love Lopin's face when he gets that cold shiver down his spine, too, so immobilized by his feelings! That's a long way for a shiver to travel, so he probably shivered for a few seconds! XD The delighted little grabby-feets raised in the air is cute! I also like the contrast of how upright and human-like Kass walks while Lopin is a floppy slouchy noodlet. Last thing, does loping say Zhings out of habit, not realizing he could say Things with his egg-tooth missing or did you put it down that way out of habit?
Indeed! And probably. XD He is a fancy boy! Why, he probably even cleans up with some kind of soap analog on a semi-regular basis! (or uses scented oils and frequent brushing/grooming) Actually, that's an interesting question, how do they usually groom their fur? (those that bother to do so)
Zhis is true! Would be fascinating to build a synthetic speaking device based on yinglet anatomy, could get an idea on what that accent might sound like. Be hella difficult though.
