For the past few years, I've had this concept tumbling about in my head that revolves around Sharon; she's only a few years younger than Melee, but she's certainly not an adult when the two first meet. As I developed Melee's story more, I began asking myself more questions about Sharon's role and what kind of person she is. What kind of person does she become? Does she change at all on a personal level? If so, what caused said changes? As I asked myself more and more questions about Sharon and crafted more and more answers about her, she gradually came to develop a character of her own with her own tale to tell.
Melee and Sharon are friends, yes, but they don't stick together forever; they do part ways after a time to pursue their own interests, and in the years that follow, the cheerful peasant's life takes some rather... serious nosedives. She gets racked with hardship after hardship as she loses more and more of who she was until it finally just outright ruins her. Adversity consumes her and constantly tries to strangle little Sharon, but it does not kill her. No, she survives... her difficulties gradually harden her and she pulls through, becoming a much stronger person in the process. A much more cynical person, but a stronger person nevertheless. She takes to becoming an independent adventurer and part-time mercenary, often roughing it in the wilderness away from others. It suits her.
This actually isn't the first time I've drawn this concept down, but it is the first I've publicly shared. Keep in mind that what's shown here is just a concept; aside from the face, the design still needs a lot of thought and work put into it. But finally putting something down worth sharing has left me feeling particularly inspired... so inspired that I've actually been trying to draw her more and more, so expect more trash drawings of this older Sharon.
I am aware I got the bow wrong. She's supposed to be wearing it the opposite way (so the bowstring's in front of her, not behind). I don't draw archery equipment very much. I am also aware that her wings are not present... those scars on her face aren't the only ones she's got...
Lastly, I just want to say that this is not a redesign of Sharon. The cheerful peasant still exists, this is just her about, say... 15-20 years in the future.

Part of my "Trash Drawing" series, consisting of rough sketches I made during my work shifts, when things get quiet and there's no real workload to be concerned about. As I can't just pull out my sketchpad and draw while on the job, I instead have to use whatever workplace materials are on hand (which is usually a basic pen and some scrap cardboard). My decision to call these "Trash Drawings" is unrelated to my self-esteem, but rather comes from the fact that these sketches are all hastily-made and are often done on literal pieces of garbage. I've been posting these on Twitter, but I've decided I should start sharing them here, as well.
