Explanation for the climbey, walking Yinglets babbies:
Human babies take so long to mature to a point of being functional to the group is that human infants are born live and have vbery large brains. They need to start considerably smaller and less developed than in other species in order to compensate for this.
A Yinglet however lays eggs (I don't know if we've been told on how many they lay in a given period, I'm going to guess no more than maybe one or two) and thus bypasses the need for this slow development cycle. Thus, they are able to develop more within the egg in order to be ready sooner for their duties to the social unit.
If I were to hazard a guess, these moth-old Younglets are likewly to mature roughly as fast as domestic house-cats., meaning they'll be doing their part to assist the Enclave within the timeframe of another 3-5 months of development.
As for the Shell Teeth: They probably get born with those. Busting out of their own eggs screeching and flailing.

I know Kass's pain. One time I went over to a friends house and they had a bunch of baby raccoons since their mother died. They handed one off to me to help take care of them and as soon as the little bastard was in my hands it throw up all over my shirt. Adorable at a distance, not so much up close.
I kinda feel the Younglets in Of Ends and Beginnings were cuter. I think it's cause they aged guest enough. But I like these Younglets too even if they are a little extra barfy. And I was wondering why Kassie kept her hair decorations. Personally I hope she has to go through another Yinglet makeover session soon.
I like that their entire body is very thick and stubby compared to the adults. I gotta say though...For being on guard with the yinglets as much as they claim, the open window that anyone could look into is kinda startling xD But they do have a nanny in there, so I guess worst case someying can scream for guards if there's a ferocious baby yinglet eating predator.
I have a friend in Germany. This friend once babysat some neighbors' kids, four of them from 6 to 2. And for some goddamn reason every single one of them tried to eat him alive. As in biting him and/or coming at him with fork and knife. Upon telling the neighbors he would not be coming back and why, they were flabbergasted. They had never done that to anyone before, including previous babysitters. I'm guessing some people like my friend and Kass are just nommable.
Yikes "special" by Yinglet standards is very special indeed. That one is going to grow up to be Bill the Cat.
Sooo... I finally got around to reading through your stuff, and it's even better than I anticipated it would be. I think I first noticed it because of a yinglet pic by
ecmajor about a year and a half ago. It is much to your credit as a creator of species and characters that I immediately felt like I "Got" them, and found them compelling.
I really appreciate the worldbuilding aspect of OOPs. I love when somebody creates a world that is so cohesive and has such internal logic that they can tell a story and continue to drop little details that add to it and continue to flesh it out in a way that isn't clumsy. This is a real credit to your writing- being able to pace it so well from the very beginning. And your art continues to improve. Your talent with expressions is particularly sharp.
I also find your approach to TF stories far more compelling than the vast majority of stuff out there, which usually concentrates merely on the physical aspects. What you are doing is much more on the lines of the best of sci-fi and fantasy, where you use the shtick of TF to explore deeper speculative themes, general mindfuck, and of course humor, which just may be where you're most brilliant.
In any case, I'm enjoying the heck out of your work. OOPs and LAM are classics, and the yinglets are obviously a genius creation. -The amount of fan art is an obvious testament to that. You've created another fun twist on the theme with Griffany as well... Keep it up, you've got another devoted fan!

I can respect Vizlet for the reason that she wants to recognize her species downfalls so she can improve upon them. One thing people need to realize is that they are not perfect. They need to know that they make mistakes, and if they don't, then that's a mistake in of itself and they won't learn.
Yeesh. That vomit looks like a sticky paste. Did he eat glue?
