Strangely enough, I haven’t put in the effort to find you on here. But it fit, and boom, there you are, affinitying away right under my nose. By the way, look what I’ve found! :D https://www.furaffinity.net/view/14911004/ It’s from 2014, Do you think it might have inspired you? That would be pure luck if I got that right, haha. If not, don’t you think it’s strange? Maybe you both got it from somewhere else altogether?. I’ve been thinking of doing something in this manner, too. What in the!
Oh, jeez. I was hoping you knew I admired you :( I didn't want to come off the way I did, I sincerely apologize. I also talked to Indui about it and I long knew before that, even, that it's a common idea. I was just interested in why so many people have it, as someone who reads a lot about the way motifs get traded around through the collective unconscious and all that theory mumbo jumbo. Of course you pulled it off incredibly well, it was a daily deviation and all that. You deserve all the credit, I refuse to be considered a critic. I was just excited to have found such an strong instance of this image appearing independently. I never intended to make you look bad, never. This is what happens when I don't make my comments way too long (like now).
I think so many people have it because this theme is really popular, throughout the history of humanity. Dark and light, yin and yang, good and evil. I don't think it has smth to do with the collective unconscious, imo.
It's fine, just most of the artists (me included) don't really like when someone comes and says "hey, I've already seen this before in *artist's name's* gallery". Sounds kinda like accusation in copying.

Wikipedia literally lists the dark-light archetype pair as belonging to the collective unconscious, I just checked. Your examples are actually right. We’re both correct.
To be fair, my original comment doesn’t really have an accusatory tone to it though. I wrote it with the possibility in mind that you might think I was accusing you, so I wrote it extra friendly and said all sorts of things somebody attacking you would never say. Maybe you have made some bad experiences before and didn’t really want to read my comment that way. I hope that nobody is being mean to you about your art or has ever attacked you. I do art too and I’d hate that. Hope you have a great day.

Hm, that's interesting, I didn't know that.
I understand, I'm not offended or smth. It may feel that way as my comments are pretty "dry", because I don't know english very well and don't know how to express myself more accurate.
And actually yes, I also have bad experience. In russian art community you can be attacked and accused in copying for a few strokes or similar color on the char's nose or smth even more absurd. So now I'm just really sensitive and paranoid about such things.

I actually don't mind the "dry" part, haha. It's good when people are direct.
And that copying thing sounds terrible. When people without any skill whatsoever assume they can say things like that. You'd still have to make the art, you'd still be a good artist. So even if they were somehow right, which they can not be, it wouldn't even matter. (By the way, when Renaissance artists "stole" from Michelangelo, nobody ever said that it was bad. Art doesn't work that way! It's really sad that people think this way nowadays.)
