Proud and majestic... And pretty much out of shape!
Me and my fursona.
A slender, agile wyvern, or at least his specie would be rather slender and agile. He poses like he was the king of the mountains and the skies, yet just ask him to take off! He would show off, sure, for about a minute or maybe two, then you would be having one very exhausted wyvern catching his breath, sprawling out totally pooped on the hillside. He walked even up there!
He likes himself that way, and not only pretends, but actually believes he is plain beautiful the way he is. Maybe just occasionally he dreams of flying, but wouldn't ever be lured into a diet even for that! Rather he goes on long, tiring hikes up the mountains to spread his wings and glide. He actually moves around a lot, and has nice muscles to rule his massive bulk to show off his active, playful side.
Of course he likes good food, that big, soft belly has to live on something, and his reptile-like maw is pretty wide! He may tease with it, and that could be quite unsettling, after all one could actually fit through, and his girth sure looks like he buried somebody down there after gulping him down in one piece. Yet he is mild and wouldn't ever do that, but enjoys seeing people freaking out of the impression. If someone messed around with him too much, he may jump onto his feet and do a bit of mock-hunting at his expense!
He also likes to be just lazy, to sprawl out on a sunny hillside like decent reptiles, especially after long walks, enjoying the breeze and belly rubs if there was anyone to give him one :)
That's about it. I just wanted to draw something and I am rather content with the outcome.
If interested, here are some reference sketches with some additional info.

Yup, he would sure like that, some nice rubbing of that flabby dewlap! He has a quite conventional design, a mix of the gold wyvern for body proportions, and the land wyvern for wings, making him normally a somewhat cheetah-like agile hunter, using his flight like a cheetah does his short bursts of speed, ending his hunt with a precise crushing swoop pinning down the prey. It seems like people don't draw often wyverns with sufficiently large wings for flight doing stuff on the ground, while I like them with all their awkwardness (I also find bats cute). For my character I neither add excessive ornaments, they may be nice for the looks, but very much encumbering if you had to live with them! Smooth and clean, and I would really love to sprawl out lazy, without horns or excessive crest digging and getting tangled up with the ground, while somebody gave me that blissful neck-rubbing!
Oh yes!! You seem to appreciate my tastes when it comes to dragon-design as well; with excessive ornaments and stuff complicating them up. Most irl reptiles look striking enough without fancy gigantic horns and such. Function over form any day! :)
Now that I think about it, I very rarely draw my wyvern flying, mostly because I love imagining him trying to get by on land with day-to-day activities with his great big clumsy wings. I am pretty clumsy myself so I think that is the main reason wyverns endear me so much; I really empathise with their clumsiness outside of an element that most other creatures tolerate easily; land. But in the air doing what they love, they can soar with the best of them.
Also I have you to thank for introducing me to the term "dewlap"! My new favourite word, for one of my all-time favourite features of large reptiles!

Tegus have their shiny polished scaly skin, the monitor lizards are rough and robust, intimidating, and the crocs definitely have their charming wide toothy grin! Then the iguanas, those lizards just look so ancient and venerable, beautiful creatures!
Although to be fair with dragon designs, looking up some pterosaurs, one could really start wondering how those came to be. Those things were huge, flew, and had such ridiculous ornaments which would leave a peacock curling up in a corner, weeping. By some designs, physics, too, could join the peacock...
Yes, that about the clumsiness, true! I don't think my real life self clumsy, but I like this particular idea, this big lazy wyvern, who likes to pretend, then naturally fails, something which occasionally happens with all of us. And he would also put up a good show when flying! At least sort of, trying to, not getting too far... It is not a good thing to be about two times heavier than you should be from the perspective of flight!
Guess I am getting better at English? If I could show something new to a native, guess so! (Proud, like on the picture :D )
