A bunch of tank designs I came up with last week. I have three reasons why I made this. Firstly, I intended Horisont to be military sci-fi with bits of worldbuilding, so why not add tanks? Secondly, tank designs can be very expandable and relatively easy to draw. And thirdly, I have a boner for tanks. Now, like last time, if this ain't your cup of tea, I'm fine with that. As always, enjoy(?)
Firewalker 2
Country: North Redmarsh
- An incredibly reliable main battle tank manufactured by Northsong Engineering. The Firewalker 2 has displayed resilience in almost all environments and conflicts, one even taking 18 shots from old Hillrunner 4 tanks and surviving. A top speed of 74 kph, depleted uranium-ceramic armor, .50 caliber machine gun, and a powerful 120mm smoothbore gun make it a force to be reckoned with.
Type-18 Kyojin
Country: Nippon
- Manufactured by Oshiro Heavy Industries for the Nippon Urban Combat Division, the Type-18 is very unusual among tanks due to its hexapedal propulsion configuration. Armed with a 40mm autocannon and 30mm grenade launcher, the Type-18 is still not something you would go up against. While its walking configuration is impractical in many environments, it has found success in base guarding and urban warfare due to its firepower and propulsion configurations.
HAV-23 Shukash
Country: United Governments of Arabia
- A heavy tank that is more useful as a defensive vehicle than for open combat. The HAV-23 was commisioned by the UGA for a potential replacement for their Shula 3 main battle tanks, but the cost and weight of it resulted in it being rejected. Featuring heavy composite armor, 7.62mm machine gun, and a rifled 134mm gun, the HAV-23 is exceedingly powerful but very slow at a top speed of 60 kph, these factors justify why the United Arabian Army relegates it to defensive positions.
Sølvpil 46 'B'
Country: Denmark, Union of European States
- Developed and manufactured in Denmark and used in special roles in the European Armed Forces. The Sølvpil 46 features a unique casemate design compared to other tanks, resulting in the tank having to be turned and suspension hydraulically adjusted to be aimed. The 'Bueskytte' variant, however, is intriguing due to utilizing a 32-stage 88mm gauss cannon, instead of an 118mm gun, resulting in a lighter and much more powerful tank at the cost of power consumption resulting in the use of a high capacity graphene battery.
Type-5 Namazu
Country: Nippon
- Manufactured by Oshiro Heavy Industries under license from Oeberst, the Type-5 Namazu is the Nippon Armed Forces's version of the Hase GAf modified for the Nippon archipelago's environment. A tankette rather than a full-size tank, the environment resilient Type-5 can be modified for infantry support, reconnaisance, and many other roles. The most common configuration is armed with a 24mm autocannon and can seat a crew of two.
