This is a piano key carving I did years and years ago of Alicia, one of her comic characters. The carving is not actual ivory but one of the first plastics ever invented and used in less expensive pianos around the turn of the last century. I confirmed this by setting a piece on fire and it exploded, ivory burns and smells like burning hair. I think it is basically celluloid.

I always intended to give this to her at some point but this was about the same time Steve Gallicci threatened to sue me because I mentioned I made a piece of artwork inspired by the idea of an orca mermaid which was of a dolphin mermaid that looked nothing like his work. After that I was rather shy of doing other artists characters or even mentioning that something was inspired by them.

After meeting artists like Maxblackrabbit, Gnaw, Style Wager and others, I realized he was is own special kind of asshole and not the norm. I found most artists loved the idea of people doing this sort of thing and would even pay me... OMG! Anyway, after hearing of Vicky's passing, it reminded me about these old carvings and thought it was a good time to post these ancient pictures of them. I don't think I still have them after 30+ years though.
