This piece disappoints me. I worked very hard on the lineart, I wanted to make the fattest, blobbiest fucking bun possible to go with that Wreck-It Ralph 2 trend. And when I finally got to the shading...
...I botched it. Messed up the colors, didn't really shade the main body right, so it looks way off even though the lines are god-damn phenomenal for how I usually did at that point in time.
Y'see, it was at this point I started following a very dumb high-school teacher's advice of "highlights gain saturation, shadows lose it." This is wrong. The complete converse is true, actually. Thankfully, I didn't make this mistake for too many pieces, and eventually learned better.
Since I really don't want to waste the potential of this piece and its amazing lines which I put a painstaking amount of effort into, I may very well re-shade this piece entirely someday. Except for the milkshake cat though, I actually shaded her well. But the bun must be re-shaded. I want to restore this piece. I want to extract all the potential from this piece that I can, as evident by how long I've been droning on about this piece and its big glaring flaw.
