Well, it's been quite a while since we last saw these two, hasn't it? Close to eight months, I'm pretty ashamed of myself really. In that time however I've lost three different jobs, it hasn't been an easy time for me. Currently unemployed and searching. I thank you all for your patience, it's really shown me how many people follow this strange story, it's been flattering to get notes asking when the next chapter is coming. Hopefully not as long a wait until the next one.
I've tried to make up for it by making this chapter both longer and more meaningful, with deeper character development than I'd planned for this scene. I'll be honest, even I didn't see the story taking the direction it takes towards the end of this chapter. It's a little embarrassing to me, being my own fursona and all, but I think I kept his feelings tasteful and in keeping with the mostly innocent, yet only human (so to speak), person he is. I hope you agree, eager to hear your thoughts. Comments will be much appreciated after all this time, I'm eager to see how many fans are still hanging in there and eager for more :)

You're right, that was probably his primary motive, he'd just been struggling to think of an excuse and her being cold gave him the perfect cover. Well, perfect in his mind, she still saw through it. But in truth he would have done it even without the promise of reciprocation, he's starting to genuinely enjoy having her close to him in any way.
