This was the second time I commissioned this artist to draw Melee for me. The first time, I was still working on a "default" outfit for Melee and they instead drew him in a placeholder garment. Once I finalized the design for Melee's default outfit in 2012, I eventually figured that since Tiki drew Melee before, why not get them to draw Melee again in his new outfit? So I did. Note the happy expression; I had yet to update Melee's personality when I commissioned this drawing, so he wasn't a timid and depressed reptile who hates himself just yet.

I didn't have much in mind when I commissioned this drawing. Just a general pose and what-have-you that was really intended to show off Melee's updated outfit. I'm sorry if I'm making a big deal out of the outfit - making Melee into a girly crossdresser wasn't exactly an easy choice for me. I already had this character as my main "fursona" for years before I made that decision, so I mulled over it for quite some time. Even today, I still regularly wonder if I should change him back to his older, non-transvestite design.

Well, girly clothes or not, Melee's design has changed very little since I first designed him back in high school (that was over a decade ago!). He might not wear it in every picture, but I'm pretty sure Melee is always going to have a lilac and purple tunic as his default getup.
