Lets hope they get there safely :D
On a side note I will admit this page partly based off of my experiences with an old ass car I had in college (2001)
A good ol 89 Chevy Baretta :D Yah it was a pile of crap but it was a 5 speed manual,V6 , two door and pretty quick.
However it would constantly refuse to go into 1st gear and sometimes even 2nd. You had to REALLY manhandle it into gear so it always looked like I was punching the fucking radio or something. Lots of laughs for anyone riding in the car with me though.
Anyway sorry for the delay, more pages on the way ^^

i want a 80's gm with a manual transmission, but I keep turning down getting one because they are so god damn rare! I want to learn how to drive a stick shift and I don't want to destroy something that there's only a few still around here in Nova Scotia. A couple weeks ago a guy sold a museum quality Malibu with a V6 stick shift 1981 damn thing looked like it should've been on display at A GM Museum guy sold it for peanuts something like 800 or thousand because he was in the middle of nowhere. I figured I'd destroy the transmission just trying to drive it here from where he was at. What I mean is destroy the clutch but you get my point.
i Every so often stumble across somebody selling a really beautiful vehicle for next and nothing because they're located in the middle of nowhere and don't copper hand what the vehicle actually is basically the guy thought the vehicle was nothing of interest because it was a V-6 Malibu and not 305 Sport model.that thing you call a piece of crap some old guy like me would love. I'll probably never have another 1980s. GM they've just become so rare.i . At one point you should drive a Monte Carlo then a 1980 Grand Prix, after that was in 1987 capris ad a mad Max 1970 Jimmy full-size with the drivetrain out of a special edition Firebird ad a 1960s Pontiac GTO ;) yes it was a Frankenstein and even with a regular transmission Insulting little Two barrel carburetor you factor in it had a special reader end and it believe it or not, would lift the front wheels up off the ground from a did take off. Imagine doing that. If you're anyways familiar with the 1970 convertible Jimmy full-size ;) two wheel drive version lol.i block the front wheels off the ground. Once by accident and pretty much drove it like an old woman the most part After that. anybody out here that happens to be reading this who drives a little super sports car. Remember kids, don't go doing something smart like taking your sports car and nearly running some guy off the road driving what looks to be an old cinderblock with tires that won't do 50 K going downhill unless you want to find your self being in your pants doing 100+ and that speck in your rearview mirror suddenly became a mini monster truck ready to kiss your back bumper. mmm i can laugh about it now probably wasn't so funny at the time.i cant are member if I broke the speedometer that time or not. I think that was the time I broke the speedometer and had to change the gauge cluster.

I definitely like some of the older classics. I actually would love to own a 67 Shelby someday. I just love the way that car looks and sounds. Also love the 69 Camaro.
Even if a person lives in a somewhat remote area, assuming they at least have Internet access they can spend a few minutes online to get an idea of what their classic is worth.
That Baretta WAS a pile of junk. I got it for like a grand and it gave me endless problems lol. But again it was pretty fast^^ I may be wrong but I think they are still very easy to get for anyone who actually wants one.

very easy to get in the US, not so much in Canada. Basically anything rearwheel drive GM here in Nova Scotia has become very sought after you see listings on the Internet of something I wouldn't even call scrap metal and the prices are several thousand dollars and people will pay it. The polls with a tree grown up through the middle of the chassis and there's no drivetrain to speak of. Something like, say, a Monte Carlo that is more body fill than metal will easily run you five or six grand. Just look up the local Nova Scotia appliance cell listings and don't get sick when you see the prices for complete trash.if u live someplace that is remote. You could have gold birds in the trunk of the car and people flat out won't drive out to get it. I've seen vehicles that would normally go for several thousand dollars and up selling for 1000 or last because the owner was in a remote area where people wouldn't bother to travel to even look at the vehicle. There was a caprice that would normally run you 5000 guy ended up selling it for 1000 with I rock rims on it. Had it for sale for over a month with almost no interest because he was in a remote location that most people would have to drive roughly 6 hours one way just to go look at the vehicle. Nobody's going to drive six hours generally to look at a vehicle on less there a complete idiot like I am.i drove approximately one way 6+ hours on what's referred to the hell highway here in , Nova Scotia too look at a S class Mercedes that was up for 700 at a used car dealership in the most remote end of Nova Scotia.this car would typically run you just to get a parts car several grand. The real sad thing was, the body was in excellent condition. They left out the part about the motor and transmission being totally destroyed and flat out lied in the listing, you wouldn't have been able to drive 30 miles with the vehicle and there are no tow truck companies in Nova Scotia that will tow it from where the vehicle was at to any other location due to it being so far off the map. I'm not exaggerating either. We literally ran into this problem wear my late adopted father's Jeep was at a Dodge dealership in Halifax who couldn't figure out how to fix it it took 3 tow trucks to get it from Halifax too are lace, each towing company will only travel a certain distance and then you're on your own. They will literally just dump it right on the side of the road turn around and drive away because that's the end of their radius.caa had to get a total of three tow truck services to transport the vehicle and then tried to back out of paying for it because each tow truck company charged over $200.u can't get a tow truck company to tow a vehicle from Yarmouth to even Halifax and there's quite literally nothing whatsoever between Halifax and Yarmouth, other than a extremely long stretch of several hours of highway. There's basically nothing in between. There's roughly a two hour plus stretch where there's not even a gas station. If you look up places like Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, then look up items that are for sale. You'll find things being literally given away and nobody will go get them, because Cape Breton is such a remote place that nobody will go to. You see people selling things that would normally be four or 5000 sometimes as cheap as four or 500 and still can't get rid of the stuff because nobody wants to go to Cape Breton and get it.ive seen classic cars sell for almost nothing strictly because of where they are located.the Malibu that talk over a month to sell the guy was in a really hard to find remote part of Nova Scotia. Despite the car being rare and in immaculate condition. There was almost nobody interested in driving that far past ass fuck know where's to confirm the condition of the vehicle and then try to drive it away. I've ran into the same problem trying to sell vehicles because I'm in a spot nobody wants anything to do with. If your ad doesn't read Halifax or darkmith you can forget about selling any manner of things because people just aren't going to leave the city to go get it.
i had a minivan up for sale that in someplace like Halifax would've sold in two or three days for about $1000 I had up for 500 for over a month, not one person even came to look at it and all I got were multiple phone calls from cab drivers who could speak proper English and didn't grasp where I lived was not a street in Halifax. I literally had a couple people call me using very poor English that were confused because they couldn't find tatamagouche street in Halifax. I had a couple of others that didn't understand. I wasn't in any mood to drive the vehicle. All the way to Halifax. Boat a three hour grueling drive for a vehicle that probably wouldn't have made the trip.the people that moved here as refugees, mostly started working as cab drivers and they started paying ridiculous prices for certain model vehicles that used to go for scrap metal, which has driven the market prices up astronomically Dodge minivans are one example some cases they'll pay several thousand dollars for a piece of junk and proceed to use it as a taxi. You can't get a Ford Crown Vic under for grand because of these guys paying insane prices for complete junk Crown Vic's, some of them even have ads up where they're willing to pay for and 5000 or more. They don't care if the cards got papers. They just care that it runs. That pretty much screwed me out of any shot of getting a Crown Vic or a old police interceptor. Some of them are even branching out and buying pretty much any kind of sedan they can get preferably rearwheel drive and paying ridiculous prices.the rich people started buying 1980s rearwheel drive GM's about seven years ago which Jack the market way up. You go into the ritzy parts of the city you'll see old caprices sitting right next to hundred thousand dollars BMWs lol. Average price for a rearwheel drive 1980 too 89 gm is three grand and up for a piece of junk you manage to find one that's from someplace like Alberta and is rust free and the price skyrockets to 10,000 or more for something in the US you'd pay about 500 for ;0)

I believe the vehicle in the comic is (based on?) a Ford Bronco II. My family had a dark blue one with tan trim for several years. Was a good little SUV which we eventually traded in for a dark green Chevy Astro - ironically the kind of vehicle the Bronco itself had replaced years prior after it (the Astro) hit a patch of black ice, skidded and crashed, busting the rear axle.
My friends were always understanding (or perhaps not understanding since they never understood how a manual worked) and I always tried to just gently ease it in and give it the time it needed. 4 years later, selling it to my room mate, and I see him manhandling it everywhere and am like "Oh, well I guess this works..."
if this is supposed to be in Germany I'm guessing that would be a lada, if spelled the name wrong. I'm super sorry, there were three of them here owned by somebody locally and I wish I could've been in a position to pick them up and put one together. They're a really quirky 1980s German SUV that looks a bit like a ford bronco. Only a handful ever made it into Canada, so it was really bizarre to see three of them in one little town like this. I think they ended up getting sold for a couple hundred bucks Ford Bronco is about the only thing I could think of to compare them to visually there a stick shift generally hard to get into gear from what I understand kind of small and boxy on looking little thing. Kind of a land rover knockoff. I guess would be closer than the Ford Bronco. There is a couple of teenagers running around Halifax with a really beautiful one I spotted about six months ago. Don't ask me where they found one that looks like it came off of the assembly line. I don't think they made them after the 1980s.
Cool never knew that. I would imagine parts would be hard to get for an old vehicle like that but if you look hard enough I guess you will find them. Folks are big on restoring old classics and making them look like they just rolled off the Assembly line. I really like that ^^
A Datsun 510 is another classic I'd love to get my paws on.

in 2015. They were still using that body style. They've only significantly change the body style in the last two years or so. Don't know how much of the drivetrain, they changed. They only had a handful of these in Nova Scotia. The one I've seen in Halifax may be a much newer one. I thought they stopped making them in 89, it just kind of made me shake my head when I seen videos on YouTube from 2009 loss with the same body style as the early 80s one that I'm familiar with, I thought they stopped making them altogether in the 80's. in the series the transporter. There's literally an episode where the star makes a whole bunch of bad remarks about driving one of these and eventually abandons it. Complaining about it having a walkie gearbox, and being difficult to handle lol
