Seek what you love to do if you can choose, but what if there are no dreams? Lance grabbed the antique music player to
remember days when those important people still had time, when they could spend time together. Now it feels like waiting
all the time, and those short joys barely make up for it anymore.
Some personal Luceiry related artwork, featuring Lance.

As someone who's both been recently aware, much more deeply, of the passage of time in the last thirty years of my forty-year lifespan, as well as Twopaw's journey with me for most of those thirty years, I think I understand how Lance might be feeling thus. That, and the 'antique music player', whether a Philips Cassette Walkman, a compact disc Discman, or even an older MP3 player; I am very fond of enjoying those 'classical' pleasures, and they enrich my life even today. And my dreams, more recently, are much more clear and palpable in my mind and heart.
Here's to you, Lance, on behalf of and to all dreamers seeking themselves. ^_^

Aww the feels!
Well. I'm sure to him, time feels like rain, slipping unceasingly through his paws. Meeting their end on the droplets below his window.
But they *don't* end, and they have *plenty* of time with eachother. They could make a puddle to reflect in. They could give life to a plant outside, who knows! They've got more time than they know

Prision bars are all around me.
there's so many things i'd love to make undone.
I haveforgotten what it feels like,
to be free, to choose the way i wanna live
Hour are days and weeks are years now.
and in this place it seems that time's standing still
And 'm still waiting for tomorrow, tomorrow.
Why does tomorrow never come.
And I'm still waiting for tomorrow, tomorrow.
Why does tomorrow never come.

Well, high-grade compositions always let us to continue the line of reflection and have something from its creator, as this one does.
Seems as if
there is a difference between a human and an animal - animals solve their problems as they appear,
humans build up their problems themselves. But it doesn`t mean we will be happy without anything to do,
anything to care about. If a person was put in this kind of "idyll",
he would incinerate himself from inside with need of action. This is humans` advantage... and their curse...
The art makes sence.

Thank you, but only a small flaw in the comment to point out: Animals do actually have this same issue, which can be seen with individuals that live comfortably and no longer have basic challenges of finding food, staying safe or having something to do. Crows slide down roofs when they get bored, a city fox comes to make use of a dogs toy to amuse itself. Pet animals are very prone to depression without appropriate environment to keep them active. It's how all of us mammals function.
But humans can recognize that this happens and why it happens though.

Amen to that... sounds like you are telling my story. After realizing a young maiden who I thought may in time come to be won over by an old dragon has opted to start to date an old friend of hers, I realize that certain things of closer realms with a female just simply aren't going to be. Life's truths are a pain in the ass... the older you get, the more you realize that the status quo shall not change... dreams are just that... dreams. Things you desire for when you are in your first couple of decades of life, but as a fine filter of few microns, few settle through and find these dreams... the rest of us are enslaved by the machine and forced to work for what scraps are occasionally tossed out by those choreographing this world stage. If you have found what you want (or think you want) in life, then... one ought count themselves fortunate, for it is a rare thing.
It is nicely done artwork, however... and it reflects truth... truth is an increasingly rare commodity these days...

I do believe that dreams are chaseable (if I didn't I'd be a hypocrite), but not everyone has clear dreams for themselves, if any at all. I remember a brief chapter in my life when I lost my passion for art, everything just stopped.. didn't really want to do anything at all, just wait until I can dream again.
People around you change, but they wont run out. Life seems to always give new chances when you're willing to learn from the failures.

I used to think there was some hope of that, but now, in my 40s, it's a time of "if you haven't by now", it basically isn't going to occur, especially things of a closer or more intimate nature. The scope of friends has shrunk basically to one 100 mi away and one next door I see most Saturdays and the spare conversations with friends over the internet here. I'm gone from home 12 hrs/day between work/commute, the rest is just emptyness. I suppose I have secret hopes that things could change, but when I look at the history of my life these decades, it's been riddled with tragedy, pain and fleeting happyness. A strong dragon grows less strong; the personal/physical issues along with the decaying society around us; it's getting a tad defeating. I do appreciate the sentiment, however. *hugs softly*
I think it's silly to give up halfway - or in general cause life is there to be lived fully, but it might need some self-searching to ponder why things might not be working out - what can you do better. You're not at an age yet where improvement and learning new stops so plenty is achievable, big changes can happen in only a matter of weeks when they do come around.
