I carefully walked to the corner edge of the train car. Over the edge, was a blur of who-knows-what, ready to break every bone in me. I readied myself and then jumped toward the leopard. He stepped aside, but I managed to grab his ankle. My weight as I went slid over the edge dragged him, and he was more focused on getting off him rather than Lauren. I didn't get to see much, I was trying to hang on to the side of the train car while holding onto this bomber. Regardless, I could hear him shout and a few clanks. I looked to see the detonator slide off the train, so that problem was over, for the time being. As I looked, he kicked me in the face and I lost my grip, I almost fell off too. I grabbed hold of the side of the train, and my paw got footing on the window sill. I was stuck watching the as this leopard was drawing grenades. Lauren would shoot a spray of water at him. But the wind would just spread it to a mist, made getting up a slippery mess. I tried digging my claws in and it was still fruitless, and the guy throwing grenades didn't help. He'd throw them as hard as possible and it'd either go past her because it was too strong, or it was too weak and would fly past himself. I was literally stuck, hanging on the side, as they dueled with bombs and water balls.
I could only watch and look for any way I could help from where I was. I could see another detonator on his belt, but he didn't seem to pick it up. I didn't think it was a spare, but, if it was, he probably didn't want to lose it. Regardless, there's bombs on the train, and they could go off. I Looked around on the side for the explosives, and found I was literally standing on one. The sill I thought I was on was actually some C4. I gave it a few kicks and fell a bit when it broke off, and it got worse when I was hanging on by my claws. I tried looking to Lauren, maybe she could help me. She ws still busy though, and her tactics changed. She some how got water to form in larger quantities, and, when she'd release them, the wind would send them right bomber.
I'd hear him grunt every now and then as he'd pull explosives, He was even moved back a bit from the slippery ground and blows from Lauren. Alas Lauren was too busy to help me, or notice what was coming up. I could see it in the distance, a large tunnel coming up, and they'd both be taken clean off their knees if they kept their fight up.
"Lauren!" I shouted, but she didn't respond. She just kept fighting and dodging bombs. "Lauren! The Tunnel!" My voice was but muffled under the heat of the fight. What could have really been done? If either one gives ground, they could lose everything.
I needed a new angle, so I tried to move. It was hard to shimmy across the train, every bomb or bump would have me lose my footing. It had to have been Miracle I made it in between the cars. I Climbed the ladder up and saw I was behind the leopard, and behind Lauren. I tried to get up, maybe tackle the bomber, but the water she had been using has gotten frosty on the roof. It was a thin layer I struggled to keep traction on. The tunnel was coming so close, I went from sneaking to a sprint, and if fell in my face. That leopard threw a grenade down by way, and stepped clear of me as ran his way. I slipped, and the force of the bomb knocked to to the icy roof. He had me, but he just backed up, not even pulling another grenade.
I looked at his belt then I looked to Lauren, "He's out of explosives!" I shouted, "and I kicked the charges off! Just grab him!"
Lauren, however, looked tired as she stood there, her legs shook, and it seem her hooves were struggling harder than I was to stand on this roof. She still tried, she made a few steps toward the leopard, but he dashed at her and grabbed her arm. He spun and flipped her over him. Her body slammed hard on the ice-cold roof, and barely moved.
"I've had enough of this!" The leopard shouted and kicked her, hard, in the stomach, I was lucky to grab her so she wouldn't fall off. I looked to the leopard, he held the other detonator I saw before. "I gave you a chance..." I looked past him and saw the tunnel just a few inches away, and then we were in black as something cold and wet was on me. I could guess what it was, but I had my mind more on helping Lauren get between cars. It'd be easier when the ceiling was more than two feet away from us. We carefully climbed in between and the cars and braced between them.
"You holding up alright?" I asked
"Mostly, I've never had a fight like that." Lauren said through heavy breaths. "So much water."
"I wished we could have caught him," I said, "If we could make him talk, or just brought him with, you could've used him to plea your case."
"At least the people on this train are safe." Lauren said, and then we were back out of the tunnel, "I guessing things are lightening up for us."
"Yeah.." I Let out a weak smile, then I caught a glimpse in one of the windows for the train cars." There were no passengers, but there was cargo... "Unless they for safety rules even on the trains..." I climbed back up and saw a police chopper fly over us. Up ahead was the building we were going to, and that's where that helicopter was heading.
