Many details and specifications of the Black Arrow prototypes remain classified as to prevent hostile powers from recreating it. What is known, however, is that each Black Arrow prototype utilized materials that were five times more resistant to forces and heat produced by hypersonic speeds, two pulsed detonation engines and a scramjet.
For weapons, each unit was armed with frontal CIWS, missiles for use in and out of atmosphere, two point-defense laser units; one on the top and one for thr bottom, and a payload consisting of eight explosive warheads and eight kinetic projectiles.
Although it has been officially confirmed that it has only underwent trial runs, there exists evidence that one or more Black Arrow vehicles have seen limited combat use. The most notable presence of a Black Arrow vehicle in combat was during the Second War of Redmarsh, where South Redmarsh experienced bombings through hypersonic kinetic projectiles, unexplained loss of military satellites, and attempts at shooting it down, all met with failure, were noticed at several points during the war.
Though expensive at 31 billion dollars per aircraft, and production halting by 2034, the project and its vehicles were very successful, with data from the prototypes being used to develop and create the HTAC-73 in 2039, which was deployed by 2041 to positive feedback and results.
