Oblivious? What, does Hida have foam horns, or something? Sharp, pointy things in the backside tend to get my attention rather quickly.

I tend to be somewhat legendary at my obliviousness when I'm in 'the zone'... and with a bowl of relaxing tea, well - Hida's really gonna need to do some wriggling to get my attention.

It's always the little details you add that make me fall in love with your work. The texture of the tatami mats and the folds in the sleeve of the kimono both immediately caught my eye. After that, I got lost in the swirls of the obi. Then it was her foot. Overall a very tranquil and beautiful scene. ♥

And then I saw Hida. X3

Bodily distress at being used as a seat cushion aside, I find this piece to be very beautiful and peaceful. The background is evocative of a tranquil teahouse, and having a lovely lady in an equally lovely kimono is never a bad thing. Beautifully done!

I think I'd have faved this without little Hida in there, but he adds to the fun :) soft colors, delicate textures, attention to detail, aesthetic composition, all done in a spiffy traditional technique, what's not to love?.
